European day of languages

Today Europe celebrates the European day of languages to make us aware of the diversity and variety of languages in our continent. Not many people know that there are about 6000 languages in the world, spoken by six billion people. Also, it is estimated that at least 50% of the population are bilingual or plurilingual, that is, they speak two or more languages.

If we go to London we will find different communities: Arabic, Turkish, Kurdish, Berber, Hindi, etc., which make about 300 languages spoken in the city.
You can find more interesting information and activities in some websites.
